The Unication Gearstar is a tone-only pager that alerts with an audible tone,
vibration, or LED indicator. The Gearstar was designed as an ideal solution for applications requiring
an alert only device in the medical, restaurant, hospitality, entertainment, and many other professional
and service fields. The pager is fully synthesized, uses the POCSAG paging protocol, and is available
in VHF, UHF, or 900 MHz frequency bands.
These easy to use pagers feature 6 programmable addresses, have wideband channel spacing, and can be alerted by a
loud clear tone, vibration, or flashing red LED’s. You can also choose between two of the three different
alert modes to work at the same time. A total of 10 Gearstar Pagers can be stacked for charging at the same
time. The charger will not damage rechargeable batteries by overcharging.
When the Gearstar is paged, the pager will alert. The user can stop the audible and vibrating alert by
pressing the Reset button, but the red LED’s will continue to flash until the pager is returned to the
charger base if that feature is enabled.
The red Power LED of the Gearstar will flash regularly when the pager is powered on and change to a ¼ second
flash rate when a low battery condition exists. In this condition, all pager alerts change to a one second alert
length.
An Out of Range Indication can be programmed into the Gearstar pager to alert the user when the pager
leaves the coverage area of the paging system. Programmable options include the length of time the pager
will alert when out of range as well as the type of Out of Range alert to be used – Vibrate / Beep / LED Light Flash.
