The USAlert Alpha 2 pager is designed for Alphanumeric, Numeric and Tone Only paging
applications and is operational in the VHF, UHF, and 900 MHz frequency ranges. Using the POCSAG coding
format, it has 6 frame independent addresses and 24 sub-addresses. The fully synthesized pager has a
large 2-Line, 18 characters per line display and a maximum of 500 characters per message. The Alpha 2 can
handle up to 60 messages with a total memory capacity of 7000 characters.

rugged casing that ensures your investment is protected at all times. The plastic enclosure for the Alpha 2 has been
rigorously tested and results have shown that the pager is capable of handling the toughest of environments.
USB Programmable
As well as being programmable by hand and over-the-air, the Alpha 2 series pager can be configured via USB port
using the Windows® software (provided). This up-to-date feature ensures the Alpha 2 series pager is future-proof,
as well as flexible.
Extensive Over-The-Air Programming
Features that can be configured over-the-air for the Alpha 2 series pager include Power Off, Change Baud Rate,
Set Time, Delete Messages, Change Alert Mode, and Cap Codes Changed/Enabled/Disabled. All pagers on the system can
be programmed simultaneously if required, making configuration simple and efficient.
Hand Programming
For simple programming changes, certain features can be User programmed by hand. Changing the pager frequency,
baud rate, and cap codes as well as enabling/disabling cap codes can be accomplished by entering the changes through
the front panel buttons of the pager.
Multilingual Capabilities
With English (both USA and UK versions), Italian, Spanish, French, German, Russian and Thai language versions
available, the Alpha 2 alphanumeric series pager is ideal for use in businesses of every kind across the globe.
Menu Options Set for Each User
Like the user profiles in many popular software programs, each Alpha 2 can be configured to only display the
options you want each user to access. Without permission, a user won’t see any feature they’re not allowed to
use - keeping your pagers free from unwanted programming options or misuse.
Priority Override Feature
During transmission of a priority message, a pager on an inaudible setting can be forced to use an audible tone
using the indispensable priority override feature of the Alpha 2 series pager.
Alerts and Indicators
The Alpha 2 has a number of selectable alerts and indicators. Alert modes include Beep, Vibrate, Beep + Vibrate,
and Mute with a variety of beeping, vibrating, and melody options available. Alert types that can be set include
Priority Alert, Manual Reset Alert, and Urgent Alert. Options are also available for setting up the Unread Message
Reminder Alert feature.
Some indicators include Message Locked, Current Message is a Duplicate, Unread Message, and Daily Alarm ON.
“LOW BATTERY” and “NO SERVICE” if out of range display messages can also be programmed for larger visual
notifications.
Standard and Rechargeable Batteries
A single standard “AA” alkaline battery is all that is required to power the Alpha 2 and would be expected to give 50 days
of battery life under normal operating conditions. If desired, a charger and rechargeable batteries are also
available for the Alpha 2.
Compliance and Certifications
The Alpha 2 is a RoHS (Restriction of Use of Hazardous substances) environmental compliant pager and is certified
to meet the regulation limits for substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and flame retardant materials. The
pager also has FCC certification that indicates its RF (radio frequency) emissions are low enough where they do not
interfere with other devices such as radios and TVs, CE certification where the manufacturer ensures the product
conforms with the essential requirements of the applicable European Conformity directives and thus allows it to be
sold in the European Union, and DOC or Declaration of Conformity with FCC standards, a self-authorization process
from the manufacturer stating the pager meets the RF emission limits as set forth by the FCC.
